The City

Located around 30 km away from Stuttgart, on a ridge between the rivers Neckar and Ammer, Tübingen is a beautiful University city in Baden – Wuerttemberg, Germany. It has around 87.000 residents, from which a third are students, which makes it Germany’s youngest city. With plenty of annual festivals including the Stocherkahnrennen, the Ract!-Festival, which combines politics, music and culture, the chocolART, an international chocolate festival, and its picturesque and medieval architecture, Tübingen attracts tourists from all over the world.

The University

With about 29.000 students, Tübingen is a typical university city. Established in 1477, the Eberhard Karls Universität is one of the oldest in Germany and, with its more than 500-year spanning history, can call itself an Elite University. According to The Times Higher Education Supplement of 2016, it ranks among the 78 best universities in the world. The university campus is located all over the city and therefore characterizes the city´s overall shape. With 14 faculties the University covers a wide range of subjects.

Nightlife

The nightlife of Tübingen mainly circulates around the numerous pubs and smaller clubs. Due to the high number of students, plenty of student parties hosted by student associations take place during the whole semester. While it may not have the tumultuous nightlife of Berlin or Hamburg, you can definitely have a great night out in Tübingen.
