This is us! The 2019 Team of The Tübingen International Crisis Simulation!

Caroline Míček – Conference Manager
6th Semester – International Economics

After an amazing experience having been a part of the board of the 2017 edition of TICS, I am extremely pleased to be leading the great team of people organizing this year’s TICS. In my opinion, the heated debates and the fun socials in the setting of our picturesque little university town give the event an extremely special atmosphere. Many great connections were made here and fantastic moments have been shared – I’m excited to create some more!

2nd Semester – International Economics

Joining the TICS for the first time I’m very excited to work on new challenges as a member of a motivated organization team. It is a great experience to be able to discuss global challenges from different perspectives. I am really looking forward to this amazing event and the opportunity to meet new open-minded people from all over the world.

As a member of the ExCom team in 2018, I really enjoined working in a great team and being part of a successful conference. I am really confident that it will be even greater this year.

PhD Candidate History

In 2018 I had the opportunity to take part in TICS and I did not quite know what to expect. It turned out to be an amazing experience. I had the fortune of meeting so many great people, during the conference and at the social events in the evenings. The conference itself provided such a great opportunity to debate and to engage in politics as well as quite memorable moments. That is why I want to contribute in making TICS 2019 a success.
Simon Kuss – Treasurer
8th Semester – International Business Administration

As one of the members who organized TICS for the first time in 2016, I am very committed to the overall spirit and idea of TICS. After having participated in several Model United Nations Conferences and Crisis Simulations, I really can tell that it is an unforgettable experience you do not want to miss. It is a great place to debate, to change the world the way you would like to (if you could), and to meet new people from different countries and backgrounds. I am pleased to be able to organize yet another unique and memorable edition of TICS.
Annabel von Seggern – Head of Supporting Staff

Lea Weiß – Fundraising
2nd Semester – International Business Administration

This year will be my first time participating in the event. I am a member of the United Nations university group and this is where I first heard about TICS. I decided to join the organizational team because it sounded like a lot of fun, a great opportunity to meet new people from all over the world and gain new perspectives on important political issues. I am really looking forward to it!

– Egon Bahr
This is my first time participating in the TICS event and I am really looking forward to it.
I’ve heard much about TICS through the UNHGS and decided to join the TICS as a member of the organisation team as well as a participant in the conference itself.
This year I want to use this opportunity to debate about politics and to meet new people.
Jannik Drescher – Public Relations
6th Semester – Rhetoric and English Literature and Culture

Since my participation in TICS 2017, I have been greatly fond of the idea of enabling a space for civil, productive (and at times hilarious) discussions. It is more important than ever to enable room for exchange and altering of ideas. For if we do not practice how to formulate and articulate or arguments now, then this malice will stick with us for much longer than we would like it to.
Markus Buchner – Socials
9th Semester – Medicine

“Because learning does not consist only of knowing what we must or we can do, but also of knowing what we could do and perhaps should not do.”
― Umberto Eco, The Name of the Rose
What better way could there be for us, who are interested in political education and the understanding of political processes, than to learn through personal experience?
For another year the TICS provides a safe space for an encounter of minds and a playground of new ideas and more so, it might even contribute in creating a better future.
Because of that I am very glad to help enable this years meeting and participate for the first time.
